Cryogenic LN2 Tank Monitoring
Cold Storage & Deep Freezers
Monitoring for liquid nitrogen tanks at –196°C using cryo-rated PT-1000 probes with custom cable lengths per tank depth. Redundant sensor pairs and gateways eliminate single points of failure, providing continuous visibility into LN₂ temperature with critical alerting.
Cryogenic LN2 Tank Visibility
Liquid nitrogen tanks storing cells, embryos, or tissue at –196°C provide no early warning when nitrogen levels drop and temperatures begin to rise — by the time a standard alarm triggers, critical samples may already be damaged. This offering gives continuous, real-time temperature visibility inside each tank so that nitrogen replenishment and equipment failures are caught at the earliest possible stage.
How it's deployed
Cryo-rated PT-1000 probes with custom cable lengths matched to each tank's depth are installed in redundant pairs so that a single probe failure does not create a blind spot. Dual gateways per tank zone eliminate single points of failure, and the system supports tanks of varying geometries including tall dry-shipper dewars and wide cryogenic vaults.
Evidence & Reporting
Each tank produces a continuous, timestamped temperature record that supports GMP audit requirements for cryogenic biological sample storage. Critical-alarm events are logged with probe identity, threshold values, acknowledgment timestamps, and escalation chain responses, providing a complete chain-of-custody record for regulatory inspections.

Frequently Asked Questions
Probes are designed for insertion through standard tank ports without requiring tank drainage, and cable lengths are cut to specification so the sensing tip reaches the correct depth for the tank's fill level. Installation typically takes under 30 minutes per tank with no interruption to stored samples.
Cables are specified in cryo-rated PTFE insulation that remains flexible down to –200°C, preventing cracking and short circuits that would produce false readings or complete sensor failure. All probe materials are selected for long-term stability in liquid nitrogen immersion environments.
Yes, alarm delay settings allow you to configure a hold-off window of one to several minutes so that the brief temperature perturbation during LN2 top-up does not generate a false alert. If the temperature does not return to range within the window, the alarm fires as a genuine deviation.
