Smart Package Monitoring
Low-Cost Datalogging
Sensor integrated into the parcel box lid for reusable container monitoring. Includes open/close detection and automated cloud upload at the depot. Supports return/reuse cycle management for pharma shippers, cryogenic shippers, and premium food packaging.
Reusable Shipper Cycle Tracking
Pharmaceutical shippers and cryogenic packaging suppliers invest heavily in reusable temperature-controlled containers, but lose visibility the moment a package leaves the depot — with no systematic way to track how many cycles a container has completed, whether it was returned in good condition, or whether the cold pack configuration held temperature throughout the shipment. This offering embeds intelligence directly into the container lid to monitor each cycle from dispatch to return.
How it's deployed
A thin sensor board integrated into the lid of the reusable container records internal temperature throughout the shipment and detects lid open and close events via a magnetic reed switch. When the container arrives back at the depot, proximity to a Bluetooth gateway triggers automatic cloud upload of the full cycle record — no manual download step, no USB cable, no barcode scan required.
Evidence & Reporting
Each completed cycle generates a GMP-aligned performance record showing internal temperature from sealing to opening, lid-event timestamps, cycle count, and a pass/fail qualification status against the validated temperature profile for that container type. For pharmaceutical customers, the cycle history can be exported as a shipper performance dossier for submission to quality assurance teams or contract manufacturing partners.

Frequently Asked Questions
The sensor board uses a long-life primary cell designed for a minimum of 500 cycles at standard shipping durations, and battery status is reported automatically at each depot upload so units approaching end-of-life are flagged before they fail in the field. Battery replacement is a simple lid-panel swap performed at the depot during the standard return inspection.
Yes — each container type is registered in the Seemoto portal with its own validated temperature profile and qualified cycle life, so the pass/fail assessment at each depot upload is applied against the correct specification for that specific shipper model. Mixed fleets of different sizes and insulation grades are managed under a single account with separate reporting per container class.
Upload is fully automatic: when the returned container enters the depot area, fixed Bluetooth gateways detect it and pull the cycle data wirelessly within seconds of arrival. No staff action is required, which means the record is captured even during high-volume return periods and there is no risk of a cycle going undocumented due to a missed scan.
